Garanti BBVA contributes to women's empowerment and gender equality issues, which are the basic building blocks of a strong economy, through its holistic Women Entrepreneurship program1. In this four-thronged process which lends support to our female entrepreneur customers in the SME segment, we focus on the issues of financing, training, encouragement and opening up to new markets.
In 2006, in collaboration with Turkish Women Entrepreneurs Association (KAGİDER) we launched Turkey’s Woman Entrepreneurship Competition, an initiative that showcases women who have successfully grown their businesses, encouraging more women in the country to become entrepreneurs.
In cooperation with Boğaziçi University Lifelong Learning Center (BULLC), we organize our training program named the Women Entrepreneurs Executive School across Turkey, and in collaboration with Women's Entrepreneurs Association of Turkey (KAGİDER), we organize Women Entrepreneurs Meetings where women entrepreneurs come together with the procurement managers of large corporations.
On the other hand, we have launched the Garanti BBVA Partners Acceleration Program in 2015 to support the different needs of early stage and growing enterprises of varying scales and sectors.
We aim to encourage the participation of 200 more women in 2019 at Women Entrepreneurs Executive School.
In addition, since 2017, we organize Garanti BBVA-BBVA Momentum Social Entrepreneurship Support Program designed to support social entrepreneurs who want to create a high social impact within a sustainable business model.
