Garanti BBVA has issued a USD 30 million bond under BBVA’s Sustainable Debt Financing Framework, following the ICMA Social Bond Principles while incorporating the Orange Bond Principles, under its international funding programme to finance projects that promote gender equality.
Garanti BBVA has successfully completed a bond issuance, aimed at financing initiatives that advance gender equality and women's economic empowerment. The USD 30 million issuance, with a tenor of 372 days and completed on June 29, represents a pioneering step in expanding gender-focused financing.
The proceeds from the bond will be used to finance initiatives that support gender equality in employment and value chains, businesses that promote women entrepreneurship and women leadership, activities that foster women's economic empowerment and financial inclusion, and projects designed to create measurable social impact in the field of gender equality. Beyond directing bond proceeds toward gender-impact initiatives, the bond aims to integrate a gender lens into the investment processes, strengthen diversity in leadership, and promote inclusive corporate governance practices.
